Chispita

We have several animals at the rescue which will live out the remainder of their years here at the rescue.  We call these animals our sanctuary animals.  Sanctuary is provided to animals which for one reason or another are not considered adoptable.  Their job is to assist in our educational events.

Lobo and Chispita

Lobo and Chispita came to Rio Verde Animal Rescue as part of a fostering program.  The animals were being fostered by the rescue and we chose to provide permanent sanctuary to these beautiful animals.

Our Lobo passed away on June 12, 2014.  We were very blessed to have him touch our hearts for the 3 years that he remained at Rio Verde Animal Rescue.  Rest in peace my friend.

Chispita, Chispa for short, is a 29 year old mare.  She has a number of health issues and is partially blind.

Chispa is part of our educational program here at the rescue.  She loves attention.  Anyone with a couple of treats will gain her undivided attention.

Billie and Jack

Billie and Jack are, you guessed it, goats.  They were made available to the rescue when their family moved out of Arizona.  Billie and Jack are very kid friendly and great for educational events for all ages.  They are very social animals and love to be part of the herd (people or animal).
